Introduction
Osensa Innovations develops and manufactures fiber-optic temperature sensor products for the semiconductor and high-voltage power distribution/transmission markets.
We are looking for a Production Assembler for a full-time permanent position to work at our Burnaby facility, beginning June 2020 or shortly thereafter. Salary will be competitive with industry standards and augmented to reflect talent.
Job Description
The Assembler is responsible for assembling electronic and optical components. They are also responsible for the preparation, placement, and installation of all components. This position is full time, 40 hours a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manual assembly of optical components and fiber optic cables, including complex and accurate parts according to assembly procedures, custom specs and quality standards
- Conduct automated final tests and calibration of opto-electro assemblies
- Perform hand soldering and testing of electronics assemblies
- Final QC, packing and shipping as required
- Conduct repair and modifications on the products as required
- Be able to work on different aspects of manufacturing operations
- Participate in training and certification programs to ensure proficient job knowledge and skill set
- Participate in all team level ISO-9001 quality improvement initiatives, 5s, and safety procedures
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of standards in optical and electronic components handling preferred
- Hands on manufacturing skills such as manual soldering and gluing are required
- Strong communication skills and a team player
- Basic Excel experience is required
- Familiar with ISO-9001 and Lean principles would be an asset
